The main ingredients of pancreatin include various proteases (protein-splitting enzymes), amylases (starch-splitting enzymes ) and lipase (fat-splitting enzymes). Thus, pancreatin is able to support the digestion of food.

Papain - enzyme from papaya

This natural enzyme comes from the green skin and seeds of the papaya. Its job is to break down proteins and is therefore used in the food industry as a tenderizer for meat. The enzyme was first isolated from papaya juice in 1756.

Bromelain from pineapple

The enzyme mixture originating from the pineapple is mainly found in unripe fruits and the pineapple stems. Like papain, this group of enzymes is able to cleave proteins.

Trypsin and Chymotrypsin

Trypsin and chymotrypsin are also secreted by the pancreas. They belong to the protein-splitting enzymes that cleave proteins at specific points.
