Devil's claw and willow bark: standardized extracts

This dietary supplement from Fairvital contains two high-quality extracts: devil's claw extract and willow bark extract. Both extracts have been standardized to their respective valuable ingredients.
The devil's claw extract is standardized to 1.2% harpagosides and the willow bark extract to 15% salicin. This corresponds to 10.8 mg harpagosides and 600 mg salicin.

Willow bark – Salicis cortex

The willow bark has been known as a medicinal plant for a long time. The valuable ingredients are primarily obtained from the white willow (Salix alba) or from the purple willow (Salix purpurea). Alternatively, other species are also used as a source of salicin.
Fairvital's willow bark extract comes from the weeping willow (Salix babylonica).

The components of the willow bark make it something very special. It contains tannins, phenolic glycosides, salicin and acylated salicin derivatives (including salicortin, fragilin, populin). The most important component is salicin. The human body can process it into salicylic acid in the intestines and liver.

Devil's Claw - Harpagophytum

For centuries, the Bushmen of the Kalahari have used the power of African devil's claw, also known as burdock. In Europe, however, it only became popular in the last century. The roots of the plant are used, more precisely the secondary roots, so that the main root is preserved and the plant is not damaged.

The roots of devil's claw contain bitter substances with the main component harpagoside, phenylethanol derivatives, unsaturated fatty acids, chlorogenic acid and flavonoids .
