The polyporus was already mentioned in China in the compendium Shen Nong Ben Cao Jin (medicines of the pious farmer) 2000 years ago.
Polyporus ingredients
The squirrel, as the Polyporus medicinal mushroom is also called, is rich in the minerals calcium, potassium and iron and contains the trace elements copper, manganese and zinc.
Other ingredients are ergosterol (precursor of provitamin D), important B vitamins such as biotin, niacin, folic acid and vitamin A. The medicinal mushroom also contains specific polysaccharides and polypeptides.
