L-Theanine: Amino acid from the leaves of the tea bush
Everyone experiences stress differently. But what actually is stress? The Austrian-Canadian researcher Hans Selye defined it as "the non-specific response of the body to a request". As early as the 1930s, he developed the basics of the theory of stress. He wrote more than 1700 papers and 39 books on the subject of stress.
Selye originally called the negative stress component distress, while he called positive stress eustress. The body's stress reaction is not in itself harmful to health and the phased course is sometimes experienced as pleasant and performance-enhancing, but sometimes also unpleasant and devastating.
