What are green-lipped mussels?
The green-lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus) is found in the marine waters around New Zealand and is one of the most nutritionally valuable creatures. It has a characteristic green lip on the inside of the shell, which gives it its name and distinguishes it from all other New Zealand mussels.
