B5 for mental performance

Vitamin B5 is also involved in the synthesis and metabolism of steroid hormones. Put simply, steroid hormones are steroids that act as hormones in the body. These include the mineral corticoids (aldosterol, deoxycorticosterone), glucocorticoids (cortisol, cortisone), sex hormones (androgens, estrogens, progestins) and Calcitriol (active form of vitamin D).
The starting material for all steroid hormones is cholesterol. The synthesis takes place in the adrenal cortex or, in the case of calcitriol, in the skin, liver and kidneys.
