MK-7 in all-trans form: The vitamin K2 is present as long-chain menaquinone MK-7 with a trans isomer content of over 99 %. The oil-based liquid form makes intake particularly straightforward.
For bones and blood clotting: Vitamin K contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and to normal blood clotting.

Vitamin K comprises various fat-soluble compounds. Vitamin K1 is found in particular in green leafy vegetables; certain forms of vitamin K2 are also found in fermented foods. A well-known example is Japanese natto, which is produced with the help of microorganisms.
In the body, vitamin K is needed to activate vitamin K-dependent proteins. These include proteins of blood clotting and proteins found in bone metabolism. The individual K2 forms are distinguished by their side chains, for example as MK-4 or MK-7.
Vitamins are absorbed and stored differently depending on their solubility. With water-soluble vitamins, regular intake from food is important; fat-soluble vitamins are absorbed together with dietary fats. Nicht nur Calcium ist für Knochen interessant
Beim Thema Knochen hatte ich früher sofort Calcium im Kopf. Erst später habe ich gelernt, dass auch Vitamin K zur Erhaltung normaler Knochen beiträgt. Genau deshalb ist K2 inzwischen ein gezielter Bestandteil meiner Auswahl.

Knochen und Blutgerinnung in einem Vitamin
Diese Kombination hätte ich bei Vitamin K ehrlich gesagt nicht erwartet. Dass es sowohl zur Erhaltung normaler Knochen als auch zu einer normalen Blutgerinnung beiträgt, macht K2 für mich deutlich interessanter als viele andere Einzelvitamine.

Meine Mutter kommt mit Tropfen besser zurecht
Sie tut sich mit größeren Kapseln zunehmend schwer und dadurch bin ich überhaupt auf flüssiges K2 aufmerksam geworden. Am Ende fand ich die Form selbst so angenehm, dass ich ebenfalls darauf umgestiegen bin.
