L-glutathione is in its biologically active, reduced form
Reduced is a state in which an atom or molecule can accept electrons. By absorbing electrons, reduced glutathione is able, for example, to defuse free radicals.
What is L-glutathione?
L-glutathione is a sulfur-containing tripeptide composed of the amino acids glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine. It is considered to be one of the most important and strongest antioxidants and is found in almost all human body cells.
It not only protects against free radicals, but also has the ability to regenerate other antioxidants consumed by oxidation. These include, for example, vitamins A, C and E, flavonoids, co-enzyme Q10 and selenium.
