What is Cascara Sagrada?
Cascara Sagrada is an extract from the bark of the American Buckthorn (bot.: Frangula purshiana). It is mainly native to the Pacific coast in Northwest America.
Ingredients
The two natural substances anthrone and anthranol should be mentioned as active components. They belong to the derivatives of the anthraquinones, which in turn belong to the quinones. Well-known and essential quinones are e.g. ubiquinone (Co-enzyme Q10), phylloquinone ( Vitamin K1) and menaquinone (Vitamin K2).
